Good evening Husker Nation! I’m ready for some football as I’m sure you all are as well. Some pretty cool news was released this week by the University when they released a statement saying that the Sept. 26 game against Louisiana-Lafayette will have the Big Red playing in 1962 style uniforms and helmets. It will be the 300th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium and the university is honoring the entire era by using throwbacks.
The uniforms will be designed by adidas and auctioned in full set (pants, jersey and helmet) to the public on huskers.com later this fall. The auction will begin during the first week of fall practice and continue through Oct. 4, with minimum bids starting at $500.
I can’t wait for this night game. Memorial Stadium is going to be rocking and it will be awesome seeing the Huskers don something a little different in my opinion!
What’s your thoughts on the throwback jerseys?
