We have learned that early Sunday morning, Nebraska wide receiver Niles Paul was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol for driving under the influence of alcohol. Paul was also charged with driving on a suspended license as well as being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Paul was pulled over for driving 53 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. When the officer went up to Paul’s window he could smell alcohol and then conducted a field sobriety test, which Paul failed. Paul was then taken to the detox center.
This is a big blow to Paul as he was the number one receiver heading into this weekend’s Spring game. Coach Pelini has already said that Paul would be suspended for the remainder of Spring practice and not be able to play on Saturday.
