The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team traveled down to Norman, Oklahoma on Wednesday night to take on the fifth rated Oklahoma Sooners. Most people thought that the Huskers would get blown out but they actually impressed some people by leading at halftime and being in the game right down to the final minute. The Huskers ended up dropping the contest by the score of 72-61.
Ryan Anderson had a career night for the Huskers as he scored 19 points and added seven rebounds. Anderson was on fire in the first half when he scored 17 of his 19 points. Steve Harley chipped in with 11 points while Sek Henry added 10 points of his own.
The lack of a big man sure hurt the Huskers on the defensive side of the ball. All American candidate Blake Griffin dominated in the second half and finished with 27 points and 18 rebounds. Nebraska just doesn’t have a player on the roster that can control a big force like Griffin.
Nebraska is now 2-2 in the conference and 12-5 overall. Their next game will be Saturday against Oklahoma State at the Devaney Center. Another tough conference game for the Huskers but this would could be a close one as it is being played in Lincoln.

I don’t think that the loss had nearly as much to do with us not having a big man as it did with poor shooting in the second half. We shot 50% in the first half from the field and then in the second half cannot throw it into the ocean. The other thing was some very poor free throw shooting.
Also Blake Griffin is a punk.
