Today there was a press conference that talked about upcoming spring football which will start on Wednesday for the Nebraska Football players. After listening to the interviews it sounds like everyone is ready to get started and have a new look on the upcoming season.
Coach Pelini said right now they are trying to build a foundation and the players are doing very well with it. They are doing great in the weight room and conditioning program and they all believe in each other and the coaching staff. That right there is a going to be the foundation for this football team. So far the players and coaches are all beliving in the same thing and that is going to make them better come next season.
Three players will be held out of spring ball and they are Anthony Blue, Kenny Wilson, and Ndamukong Suh. They should all be back when regular practices kick off reports are saying. Wilson might not ever be the same type of player however as he is still trying to come back from his broken leg.
Players that once packed on pounds are shedding those pounds to play at lighter weights and move around faster. Matt Slauson and Zack Potter have both trimmed down and should play better at their lighter weights in the upcoming season. We could see Pierre Allen also playing at a ligher weight to come off the rush end.
Spring practice will start on Wednesday, and the Red/White spring game will be played on April 16th. So far there have been over 40,000 tickets sold for the spring game! Contact the university if you don’t have your tickets yet.
