It wasn’t a good weekend to be out partying if you were a Nebraska Football player after three current players and two former player got into trouble with the cops in Lincoln.
The worst off was offensive linemen Andy Christensen who has been suspended indefinately after being charged on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault, resisting arrest and failure to comply. Reports say that Christensen touched a 23 year old female at the Brass Rail under her skirt. Shame, he should have really known better and I’m sure he regrets it while still sitting in jail until his arraignment on Tuesday.
The two other current players to run into trouble with the law were Ben Martin and Mike Smith. Both players were at a loud party in Northwest Lincoln that got called in because of loud noise. Maurice Purify and Carl Nicks were both at the same party as well and received tickets.
Smith was accused of maintaining a disorderly house, and Purify and Martin of being inmates of a disorderly house. Police arrested Nicks on suspicion of being an inmate of a disorderly house and failure to disperse after he wouldn’t leave. Nicks has since been released.
We all know people like to party in college, but when your a player you have to keep yourself away from that kind of stuff. Kids are going to drink, there isn’t a way around that, but they need to keep that to themselves and not parties etc with 100+ people.
