The Kansas Jayhawks took the Nebraska Cornhuskers back behind the woodshed for an old fashioned butt whooping on Saturday. The 76 points put up on the Husker defense is the most points ever scored on a Nebraska team. The offense didn’t play too bad for the Huskers, except Joe Ganz had a couple of interceptions in the second half that stopped the Huskers drive and gave the ball right back to the Jayhawks who knew what to do with it.
One bright spot for the Huskers was wide-receiver Maurice Purify who had three touchdowns on the game. He made a spectacular one handed grab for his second touchdown that you will probably see on the Top 10 plays on Sportscenter tonight.
But once again, it will be the terrible Nebraska defense that everyone will be talking about for another week.  There are plenty of “fans” out there that wish the season was just over. Well we have Kansas State and Colorado left on the schedule. Lets try to win these final two games and then wait for all the changes to be made.
Goodjob Jayhawks, you guys got us and it was an old fashioned butt whooping. Good luck the rest of the season.

Me oh me oh me oh my,
Did you see Maurice Purify?!!
Hi, Husher fans:
I’m a KU fan and, frankly, came to this site to gloat a little. But your gracious comments about today’s “good old fashioned butt-whoopin’” chastened me.
I gotta say, though, the fans of Husker Nation are a lot nicer when the team loses than when you’re winning.
Back in your glory days, when the only Husker football ticket ordinary people could get was at KU’s Memorial Stadium when Nebraska visted Lawrence, the folks in red outnumbered the folks in blue…and were pretty obnoxious. I’ve sat through enough 47-7 shellackings of my Hawks by your Cornhuskers to relish today’s game. But one thing really impressed me about the crowd today.
The blue shirts outnumbered the red shirts in Lawrence today, but one thing that impressed me was how few or none of the red shirts left the stadium early.
You guys really deserve a team you can be proud of. And you’ll be back.
This has been a charmed year for Kansas football. And even though it’s not what you’re used to, players such as Maurice Purify… and the fact that the Huskers hung up 39 against a KU defense that needed the test and, I hope, learned some lessons… gives me (albeit a bit grudglingly) renewed respect for what Nebraska Football is all about.
Not that I’ll ever root for you guys. But I’ll respect you in the morning.

I have followed Nebraska football for thirty years and I am in A state of shock. I thought I would never see a Nebraska football team get beat this bad. We always beat KU with a 76 point score. I guess we were due to get one from them. Tom Osborne, will you please rescue us. I hear Turner Gill would love to coach the huskers. I’m sure he would love to get out of Buffalo. I would love to see him in the red and white again. I want to see the Big Red on top again. God bless the Huskers.

Good job and congradulations. Kansas has a VERY impressive team this year. And I see them all coming back next year. Hopefully we will have a better defence to test your team. Again, congrats and good luck with the rest of your season. I will be pulling for you giys to represent the Big 12 North

Well, I guess this is what you get when you give a contract to a coach in mid seasn. Seems like alot of tax money poorly spent. My pride is still with Nebraska but my cell phone is still ringing from my Texas friends Please give us out-of-staters some sense of sanity to all of this.

At this juncture, I wonder what options Osborne has?
November 4th, 2007 at 12:08 am
History bears that Osborne never had top 10 recruiting classes, but he always had top 10 teams. Callahan has always had top 10 recruiting classes, but never had a top 10 team. Osbourne needs to find a coach, not a recruiter. That is the solution to your problem…

The worm has turned cornholes. Get comfortable in the basement. This is just the beginning!!!!
PS look on the bright side: college basketball season will be over in 5 months!!!!!
November 4th, 2007 at 9:07 am
LONG TIME COMING you lame ass corn-field inbred a-holes. I LOVE this season. Only thing that could make this season better is to sign Callahan to a long-term contract.
November 4th, 2007 at 10:19 am
It started with the rout by Mizzou and continued with the Jayhawks Creaming your Corn….The reason the red stayed in the KU stands, is that they were safer in numbers.. Had they ventured out the Jayhawks would have picked them off one by one…..Did anyone notice KU was playing with 3rd & 4th stringers most of the second half??? Something the “glory” Corncobs never did in the 90’s…..What goes around comes around…
Recommend the “big red” consider a transfer to Waco….maybe the 2 teams could put something respectible on the field…..Playing Nebraska is hurting the BCS ratings of Mizzou and Kansas, one being the Big 12 Champ….neither will make it to the Big Dance cause the Huskers have brought us down…..
(P.S. I used to be a big red fan, now I’m just “little pink”…..

Your blog name says it all! How fitting. It may be TGill or perhaps B Pellini next year, and I will be front and center in Lincoln watching your pussy cats get creamed.
PS: Please sign GPinkle to LT Contract! KU please kick the P-cats this year!
November 4th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
To: RedWillReturn….
Your corncobs are an embarrasment to the Big 12 North…NU ought to consider applying for Div. II status. Maybe they could get a big W that way….
76 points…..just how can you do something that lame?? Your not only losers but quitters too….. The Cats are going to spank you in your own house Saturday….can you saw 6 in a row!!!!
November 4th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
We are at the bottom of the dog dirt pile and we are not getting up. I’m realistic….
Move over Notre Dame, have you got room in the cellar for us??
Fellow Nebraskans: You better get a life and find something else to hold on to, like High Taxes and Higher Taxes…

Years ago I coached a junior high football team and the most points scored on us was 22. Of course, unlike cosgrove, we made adjustments during a game and at half time in reaction to what opposing teams were doing. hmmm maybe I should take over the blackshirts for the remainder of this dismal season. Don’t get on the players, it’s the coaches who have screwed this up
November 4th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
Dave…you have my vote. When can you start?
Husker4evvvver: The ONLY thing ND did right yesterday was let Navy win. And yep, they have Weis through what, 2012?

Husker Nation and the Loser Followers:
The BCS is out….
KU #4
OU #5
MU #6
Would Nebraska please step up so that KU and MU can get some style points??
The winner will beat OU and most likely play for the National Championship…
Oh, on your way, someone tell the EX-Mizzou grad Shatel (World Herald Sports Writer) that moving to Nebraska and turning into a Husker will never be forgotten,,,,He’s banished for Life….

To Huskerlosers: What are you smoking these days?
Whoever comes out on top in the game at Arrowhead will get the ass handed to them by OU. KU & MU are both way over-rated.
To K-Wildcat: Nice game in Ames Saturday. Also, nice try on the volleyball court.
November 5th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
To: RedWillReturn:
If KU is over rated then Nebraska is worse than I thought…. you need a reality check or check yourself in to a therapist….you need help DREAMER!
November 5th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
Are the reports I am hearing true? A moving van parked in front of Callahan’s house with a sign saying “Free Transportation Anywhere….outside Nebraska!”
November 5th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
Are you people serious!? KU finally has a good team in practically a CENTRY and your bagging on NU for losing to them and that we should get used to being in the cellar!? And KSU hasn’t had a good team in a long time either…..and your talking shit about NU’s down season!?!? Get a life cuz you sound stupid. But i suppose that would be expected from little kids who finally have a team to chear for…(mizzu and KU) KSU you still suck. Losing to the ONE team we beat in the big 12. And I know this will be the last time we hear from you kids because next year when Nebraska is standing on your throates and your begging for mercy, then you wont have ANYTHING to say. Stupid kids.
November 6th, 2007 at 12:46 am
Wouldn’t be cool if TO hires Barry Switzer to resurrect Nebraska football?
November 6th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
To HuskerPride:
NU didn’t lose to KU….KU kicked your butt, BIG TIME…can you say Most Scored on NU EVER!!!!
Better swallow now, cause when KSU gets through with you it will be white stuff going down your throat!!!
P.S. KU and MU have both won 2 out 3 from NU…can you see a pattern developing….KU returns 17 starters next year…MU returns 15…
If I’m not mistaken…NU doesn’t even know who to “classify” as a starter…
Give me one name of anyone with REAL talent…oh, don’t forget to start with your 5 Star Players….
Now who looks stupid? Stupid!!!
November 6th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
To Husker Pride:
Suggest you lay of the booze before you make any further comments. Isn’t 10:48 way past your bedtime….or did mommy let you stay up late?
November 6th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
LOL, it’s so funny watching all the K-State and KU fans replying when the Huskers are having a bad year. Or bad 5-6 year streak I mean lol.
Just wait, you will be back at the bottom of the conference in due time. Right where you belong.
November 6th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
Face it cornholes, the program started downhill after osborne moved into the nursing home. Now it’s gotten to the point where your recruits are backing out of their committments because they are being taunted by their classmates. Not a good sign. I hope the College World Series moves out of town too. The only thing left will be that penis shaped monument. Fitting…you deserve all that is coming to you for running up the score for the last 30 years. M-I-Z F-NU
ps your baseball team sucks too!
November 7th, 2007 at 12:31 am
To RedWillReturn: you might want to concentrate on K-State before you start this talk about upsetting Mizzou next year.
Also, is it true that osborne offered brian billick the job last night after the monday night game?
November 7th, 2007 at 11:28 am
You all need to grow up. Once a man twice a boy. That is all of you except Huskerpride. Why do all the trash talking, you sound ridiculous. GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
K, Nebraska football is having a bad season, so what. We will get the program turned around and there will be good seasons to come. Every team has their off seasons and we just happen to be having ours. Have faith.
Go Big Red.

Hello there folks,
I am new to this sort of thing so I hope I am doing this right.
I am a Michigan State alum and a ravant Nebraska fan as well. My wife Kathy and I follow Nebraska as though we went there, although we have degrees from four other schools. including Michigan State and at least two small division 3 universities.
I WANT TO STATE UNEQUIVACANLY THAT THIS DEFENSE CAN’T HOLD UP AGAINST ANYONE IN THE BIG 12 WHO IS IN THE UPPER TIER THIS YEAR. COLORADO THIS COMING FRIDAY WILL BE A GOOD TEST, BUT IF COACH CALLAHAN MUST STAY, IT IS OUR OPINION HE SHOULD TOTALLY DO AWAY WITH HIS WEST COAST OFFENSE - FEW SCHOOLS USE IT AND HE SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT WITH THE OAKLAND RAIDERS. HE CAN’T HAVE HIS JOB AND EAT IT TOO!!! HE SHOULD USE A SPREAD OFFENSE AS WELL AS MAN-TO-MAN AND STOP ALL THIS BALL TOSSING SIDEWAYS HOOPLA.

GO HUSKERS, SPARTANS, BUCKEYES, AND NITTANY LIONS!!! (NOT IN ANY ORDER OF PREFERENCE, WE LOVE ALL THOSE TEAMS) GO GREEM AMD WHITE, AS WELL AS RED.
