Nebraska’s starting wide receiver Maurice Purify was arrested Saturday night in Lincoln. According to the Lincoln Police Department, Purify was arrested on two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest.
Lincoln television channel KOLN/KGIN 10/11 reports that Purify assaulted a doorman of a bar after the doorman had denied Purify and an acquaintance admittance into the bar.
Another player making another bad decision. Gotta think guys…
Coach Mike Anderson announced today that shortstop Ryan Wehrle is no longer with the team. He is the second baseball player that has been kicked off the team in the past month so I really have to wonder if Coach Anderson is losing it with his team.
The team which lost two games to Coastal Carolina before being rained out today, is in a big time slump and has been for most of the season. Recruiting is down, players are performing, and coaches aren’t doing as good of jobs it seems like.
Did losing Rob Childress to Texas A&M hurt the Huskers more then we all thought? It sure is looking that way.
Yesterday the University of Nebraska announced that it has finalized the 2008 and 2009 Nebraska Football schedules. Once these were released, not very many fans were happy with the non-conference games that the Huskers will be playing.
I know Steve Pederson and Coach Callahan want as many home games as possible, but when you are scheduling the likes of Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas State, and Florida Atlantic it is going to make some people mad.
We will be talked about playing a cupcake non-conference schedule all around the media. And Husker fans will still have to pay out high prices to see those games. They aren’t as good, and I’m sure the Steve Pederson could have done a little better by setting up a home-home series similar to Wake Forest etc. Sure Wake Forest wasn’t that good when Pederson scheduled them, but look at them now. They sure are better then playing teams from the Sun-Belt Conference…
Hey, atleast we got a home and home with Virgina Tech right. That one is about it to look forward to besides Big 12 conference games.

Former Husker fullback Dane Todd continues to gain academic scholarships and achivements for his hardwork in the classroom.
The Walter Byers Scholarships were established in 1988 and recognizes the contributions of former NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers. The awards encourage academic achievement of student-athletes and each Byers Scholar receives a $21,500 scholarship. Winners have the option of renewing the scholarship for a second year based on his or her academic standing.
Congrats Mr. Todd, you are someone that everyone should look up to and admire for your hard work!
