Aleks Maric had another big day for the Huskers today as they defeated the Missouri Tigers 82-77 in overtime. Maric finished with 31 points, 19 rebounds (a career high), and two blocks. The first half alone he had 18 points and seven rebounds.
With the victory, Nebraska (16-11, 5-8) is assured of a winning season, remains in position to finish as high as fifth in the Big 12 and completed the first regular-season sweep of Missouri (17-10, 6-8) since 1993.
Many fans are not giving Maric any credit even though he had a big day and helped the Huskers win another Big12 game. They feel with all the close shots that he misses that he shouldn’t even be playing and sitting on the bench. I just have to say if Maric was not on the team, the Huskers would be shooting 30 three pointers a game and probably losing by 15 points each and every game. Which would you rather have?
