NebraskaNebraska Volleyball player Sarah Pavan has been named the 2006 Volleyball Play Of the Year!  Pavan, a biochemistry major who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA, also won college volleyball’s top academic honor earlier this season. The only other woman to win player of the year accolades for both academic and on-court excellence was former Stanford star Ogonna Nnamani, who did it in 2004.

Nebraska is the first school to have back-to-back National Player Of The Year awards.  Last year Christina Houghtelling won the award.  Houghtelling will be back next year for her senior year as she took this year off to rehab from shoulder surgery.

Congrats to Sarah Pavan!
